Sometime after 2.30 PM this afternoon, St Patrick Street, in central Edinburgh, was cordoned off by police and traffic, including bus services, was temporarily diverted.
The police were responding to a “traffic incident” as one officer told The Student.
According to a passerby, the incident involved two young men on e-bikes who knocked down an elderly woman in her 60s.
It is unclear what the woman’s condition is at the present moment after she was taken away by an ambulance.
Another witness told The Student that she was concerned for the “woman’s wellbeing” after the accident had occurred.
At 3.56 PM the cordon was lifted and normal traffic including bus services resumed.
