The Study Hub at 40 George Square has been occupied by pro-Palestine protestors.
The occupation began last night and both the main entrance and stairwell leading to the lower ground have been blocked.
Outside the main entrance of 40 George Square signs draw attention to the University of Edinburgh’s investment in defense companies that supply Israel’s military.
“We, as concerned students, have occupied 40 George Square to continue pressuring the University for divestment”, one of the signs on the door says.
A motion submitted by Edinburgh University’s Justice for Palestine Society calling for Edinburgh University to divest from defense companies supporting Israel’s military passed EUSA Council earlier today.
All classes within the building have been canceled and University security is not allowing anyone to enter the building.
