Residents of Prince Regent Street in Leith fled their homes in the early hours of Sunday 16 February 2025, after a fire erupted.
“The fire is being treated as wilful, and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything to contact us,” Detective Constable Luke Wilson says.
Fabian, a five-year resident of Leith, responded when asked about the act:
“I remember hearing about it when it happened, but honestly, I did not think much of it. It’s only now that I learn it was intentional. Happens, I guess.”
Forty minutes passed between the fire service receiving the call and the blaze being quelled. Police report no real damage, and residents returned to their homes shortly thereafter.
There were no injuries reported.
Anyone with information is requested to contact the police via 101.
