Oktoberfest returns to Edinburgh

Oktoberfest celebrations will take place in Edinburgh on Princes Street Gardens during the weekend of 3 October and 5 October. These celebrations will mark the 11th year Oktoberfest has been celebrated in Edinburgh.

Over 1,000 people are expected to attend the annual German autumn celebration, filling the tent adjacent to Princes Street. Entry is possible from 4 pm-11 pm on Friday, 11 am-11 pm on Saturday and 12:30 am-7:30 pm on Sunday.

The student ticket, available for £10, includes a seat at one of the long tables in the tent, as well as a complimentary first beer (one-and-a-half pint size). The beer on tap is sourced from a Bavarian brewery outside Nuremberg and will be available in one-and-a-half pint glasses for £14.

Traditional German food options such as schnitzel or kartoffelsalat (potato salad) will also be available around the gardens.

Some attendees will likely wear traditional outfits, such as lederhosen or dirndls. Rental is possible on the day, or a costume can be bought from the event website.
