The Edinburgh Food Festival this year celebrates ten years of bringing the best of Scottish cuisine to the streets of Edinburgh.
The Festival remains Edinburgh’s only city-centre free-to-enter food festival, and visitors can expect to see a range of Food Festival favourites returning, from a taste of the Middle East from Kebbabar to Spanish street food from Moskito Spanish Bites.
If you’d prefer something a little cooler, Alandas is set to return with their award-winning gelato and locally-sourced seafood, perfect after a trip from the Sangria Bar.
This year, to celebrate the ten year anniversary, a line-up of tastings, kitchen demonstrations, and more will be held across the ten-day celebration, with a full programme of events due to be released toward the end of July.
Alongside Edinburgh’s own food vans, the Scottish Street Food Awards are due to take place in Assembly George Square Gardens on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of July. Previous winners have since gone on to win titles in Europe and the British Final, so anyone attending will be sure to taste some of the finest Scotland has to offer.
All nine mobile kitchen teams will be competing for a place at the final of the British Street Food Awards 2024, serving to impress visitors and panel alike.
Visitors can expect see an African/Scottish fusion from Knights Kitchen, Thai delicacies by Edinburgh’s own Ting Thai, and homemade brownies from Chock Shop.
These kitchens will be fighting to win over the public as visitors can cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award, so all is to play for, and with so much to offer, the Edinburgh Food Festival is a perfect day out food young and old, local or tourists, alike.

The Edinburgh Festival begins on the 19th of July and will run through until the 28th at Assembly George Square Gardens. The Scottish Street Food Awards 2024 with take place over the opening weekend.
