The five best Brooklyn Nine-Nine halloween heists

For Brooklyn Nine-Nine enthusiasts, Halloween means one thing: a Halloween Heist marathon. Whilst many enjoy binge-watching spine-chilling horror movies, nothing beats watching the much-loved characters conjure up ridiculous and far-fetched schemes to battle for the coveted title of “ultimate human-genius”. As an avid Halloween Heist re-watcher, here are my top 5 heists.

5. Cinco de Mayo

The Cinco de Mayo-themed heist strays outside of typical heist territory. Just when you think the schemes could not get crazier, Rosa ends up putting Boyle in the mail, Scully’s twin brother Earl is revealed, and Kevin tries to sabotage the heist.

4. Halloween IV

Featuring Boyle’s doppelganger, Cheddar’s heist debut and Rosa and Amy forming their own Babysitter’s Club, the fourth heist remains among the most iconic. It showcases how “Gina knows best” in her mission to change the “detective-genius” title to “human-genius”. Unlikely partnerships of Boyle and Holt, Rosa and Amy, and Jake and Bill battle for the title. The competition skyrockets, with Holt breaking a window and Jake threatening to replace Boyle with Bill.

3. Halloween II

Previously robotic and reserved Holt stops at nothing to reclaim the victory title. His unhinged tactics involve Amy placing a fire hydrant in front of Jake’s car and tow it away, and Terry kidnapping Boyle.

2. Halloween

No matter how convoluted subsequent storylines get, there is no heist like the heist that started it all. The episode develops the friendship and comical rivalry between Jake and Holt and brings the whole gang together, beginning an annual tradition.

1. HalloVeen

The writers really hit the “bingpot” with this one. The whirlwind of an episode features Holt, Jake and Amy placing GPS trackers in Terry’s yoghurt and Cheddar being replaced by “some common bitch”. The ending combines signature heist antics with one of the most heartfelt and iconic proposals in sitcom history.
