Although I still believeWicked was robbed, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande stole the show with their breathtaking opening mash-up of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Home,” and “Defying Gravity.” Cynthia’s performance was, as expected, flawless, but what really caught fans’ attention was Ariana’s look of pure pride. Their close friendship made headlines during Wicked press, and social media was quick to share the moment, proving how much she admires her co-star.
Adam Sandler in a Hoodie
As always, Adam Sandler showed up underdressed for the Oscars. While most male stars arrived in designer suits, Sandler rocked up in basketball shorts, a Hawaiian shirt, and a hoodie. Even though he didn’t win Best Actor for Sing Sing, he definitely had one of the best nights, making the most of every moment.
The Sandworm Joins the Band
Even though Dune: Part Two feels like it came out ages ago, its most iconic star—the infamous sandworm—made a surprise Oscars appearance. The creature, best known for its popcorn bucket fame, was spotted playing the harp in the live band and even made a brief feature at the piano later in the night.
