St James Quarter hosts charity fashion show for Cancer Research UK

Cancer survivors will take centre stage at a charity fashion show in Edinburgh’s St James Quarter on 28 March, raising funds and awareness for Cancer Research UK.

The catwalk will feature 20 individuals who have experienced life-changing cancer diagnoses, modelling both pre-loved outfits and the latest styles from retailers within the shopping centre.

The show will be professionally styled by Ian Tod and compered by Kylie Reid. Reid is the founder of EGG, one of the UK’s largest platforms for women in business.

The event is a collaboration between Edinburgh STYLE and Business Beats Cancer Edinburgh.

Business Beats Cancer Edinburgh, established in 2019, has already raised nearly £800,000 through initiatives such as annual fundraising dinners and the sponsored Seven Hills of Edinburgh walk.

The fashion show forms the closing highlights of Edinburgh STYLE, a five-day programme running from 25-29 March that celebrates beauty and fashion across the city.

Attendees will be able to take part in additional fundraising activities, including a prize draw, a second-hand charity shop, and a donation station encouraging guests to contribute unwanted items.

The five-day event includes runway shows, panel talks, in-store experiences, and retail promotions in selected shops with up to 20 per cent off.

Tickets cost £20 with all proceeds going directly to Cancer Research and include a complimentary drink.

Organisers say the show aims not only to raise funds, but to spotlight personal stories and inspire wider community support.
