Autumn has come upon us! This means only one thing, and that is to search for the perfect cozy cafe to sit in on a rainy Edinburgh day. My three categories are warm ambiance, seasonal drinks (which are also delicious of course), and last but not least, a nice place to read a book. Lucky for you, I have found the best one: Books N’ Cup!
This lovely cafe is located in the heart of Tollcross and is only a 15 minute walk from central campus. Another thing is that it opens from 7:30am until 10pm everyday! It is unheard of for cafes to stay open that late in my opinion. I find myself walking to this cafe after a long day of studying at the central campus to unwind and relax, or if I ever want a change of scenery for studying (they also let you use laptops).
The last time I went, I ordered a chai latte and a build your own toastie, which was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the chai latte for anyone feeling autumnal because I think this chai latte might have been the best I have ever had in Edinburgh as it wasn’t too sweet and still had the flavour of the warm spice. However, the food here is heavenly as well; I still dream about the toastie.
Next time I go I’ll have to indulge in their sweet treats because they were screaming towards me as I was leaving the cafe last time. I also love their drinks menu because they have the most creative drinks, such as their nutella hot chocolate or their black forest latte. There are endless options, and that is why my savings for these next few months will be going to Books N’ Cup, because it is just unreal.
