On 6 October 2025, West End Introducing’s second live concert will be held at the Lyric Theatre in Westminster, London. The organisation’s first live show was held in late June of this year, and the second time around, the event promises to be as spectacular as ever.
What is West End Introducing?
West End Introducing – in alignment with its name – is an initiative created to spotlight emerging talents in London’s theatre scene. It was initially an online series created in the wake of the pandemic; established musical theatre performers would frequently sing with new talents. Subsequently, many of the spotlighted performers have gone on to star in major West End productions such as Pretty Woman, School of Rock, and Heathers. Artistic director Kai Wright has highlighted West End Introducing as “one of the most rewarding projects [he has] ever had the privilege to work on, and moving [from a digital platform] into this live arena…is a huge step for [him].”
The online project has always been extremely accessible for new performers – up-and-coming musical theatre hopefuls have been able to email the team footage of themselves performing in hopes of being paired with seasoned West End entertainers to perform duets. If successful, fledgling performers are invited to London to duet with a chosen veteran artist. These veteran performers have included Legally Blonde’s Courtney Bowman and Cabaret’s Rob Madge.
West End Introducing can, by title and content alone, be tied to West End Live. West End Live is a two-day free event held in Trafalgar Square, London, created in 2005 to showcase West End productions. It is typical for all West End productions to participate; this year, the event included notable performances from Evita, Hamilton, and Clueless. West End Live historically draws hundreds of thousands of audience members each year – the goal of West End Introducing is undoubtedly to create similar buzz and give rising stars the same deserved attention.
West End Introducing: June 2025
On 30 June 2025, West End Introducing held their first live concert at the Lyric Theatre in London. The production promised duets, ensemble performances and special guest appearances. Those performing included Elena Breschi (Six), Daniel Jagusz-Holley, (Phantom of the Opera) and Charlotte O’Rourke (Muriel’s Wedding) amongst other up-and-coming talents from some of London’s most prestigious performing arts schools.
West End Introducing: October 2025
The iteration of West End Introducing on 6 October promises a similar concept: an on-stage band and performances from up-and-coming musical theatre talent, with guest appearances from some of the biggest stars of the West End. Tickets can still be purchased on the official Lyric Theatre website, ranging from £20 to £60. These prices are in alignment with West End Introducing’s policy of accessibility and inclusivity. Many younger musical theatre fans will be able to afford £20 tickets – an inexpensive price to pay for a night of performances on the West End.
Through continuous efforts to spotlight new talent and a dedication to the accessibility of the arts, West End Introducing continues to be a leading platform for aspiring professionals to showcase their abilities, as well as a springboard for paid roles on the West End. Organisations supporting and uplifting ambitious performers are pivotal, and the widespread support for the West End Introducing initiative exemplifies just how pivotal they are.
