Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, feeling peckish in George Square, or simply looking for a quick slice, Civerinos is the gold standard for Edinburgh’s pizza — since opening in 2014, the pizzeria has quickly become a local favourite, and was last year named the 13th best pizza in the world by Time Out.

As a self-proclaimed pizza lover, I jumped at the chance to put the deal to the test, armed eagerly with an empty stomach. As methodical as I am enthusiastic, no stone was left unturned, and I was certainly left satisfied. As photos would suggest, it was smiles all around! Not one of the three choices disappointed and having never tried the vegan margherita I was pleasantly surprised. With such a sweet deal back on the menu, tables are capped at 45 minutes each — fret not, though, such speedy service gives you plenty of time.
This isn’t the sort of establishment which sacrifices quality, bear in mind. After a respectable three slices, a friend of mine proclaimed: “This is the best pepperoni I’ve ever had.” With delicious food, welcoming staff, and a great atmosphere on a Monday night, what’s not to like? And for students, Slice Life offers a chance for some of the world’s best at an equally attractive price.
That’s not the only deal, too — Civs is offering 50% off on click-and-collect orders every Tuesday, so don’t worry if you’re too busy on Monday. So, was I humbled, as the Civs’ website may suggest? Perhaps. But after four slices of pizza to the tune of some Jamiroquai, I would welcome the opportunity to be humbled once more.
